OUR MISSION PROGRAMS

Three Programs. One Goal: Expand Educational Opportunity.

Chanak Foundation concentrates its philanthropic work in three clearly defined, Candid-aligned programs. Each program is designed around verified community need, measurable learning outcomes and equitable access rather than commercial educational sales.

PROGRAM 1 · NEED-BASED ACADEMIC ACCESS

Academic Scholarships & Educational Access (Panama, USA & International)

Need-based academic scholarships removing financial barriers for displaced and underserved students. Providing accredited academic continuity, remedial learning, and verified transcripts across Panama, the United States, and partner regions.

This philanthropic fund removes financial barriers for eligible students who face structural, geographic, or economic displacement. Depending on available restricted grant funding and partner capacity, eligible scholarship applicants are supported across the United States, Panama, Spain, and partner communities.

Scholarship awards are strictly subject to verified financial need, academic commitment, and philanthropic guidelines. The Foundation raises and administers 100% charitable support to ensure students achieve recognized secondary academic milestones.

  • Need-based and mission-aligned scholarship selection criteria
  • Accredited academic continuity, remedial learning, and verified transcript support
  • Individualized academic advising and dedicated bilingual student mentorship
  • Support for eligible learning materials, diagnostic assessments, and credentialing costs
  • Transparent, auditable stewardship of restricted scholarship funds
Students studying in a supported academic environment
Need-based scholarships expand educational access wherever financial barriers limit student potential.
Educator mentoring and teacher formation workshop
Empowering educators with character pedagogy, mastery learning, and localized curriculum frameworks.

PROGRAM 2 · EDUCATOR FORMATION & LEADERSHIP

Christian Educator Mentorship & Teacher Training Initiative

Empowering Christian educators through character-driven pedagogy, mastery learning frameworks, and localized curriculum development. Equipping teachers for community-based schools and emerging educational choice/ESA (Education Savings Account) frameworks.

Great education begins with inspired, equipped educators. This initiative provides practical pedagogical mentoring, instructional coaching, and administrative frameworks for teachers serving in community learning centers, homeschool co-ops, Christian schools, and rural micro-schools.

Educators receive training on competency-based mastery learning, character and virtue formation (moral, performance, civic, and intellectual virtues), and guidance on navigating state educational choice policies (including ESA accounts in Arizona, Utah, Florida, Wyoming, and other states) to help eligible families access learning support.

  • Character-driven pedagogical frameworks rooted in Christian service and student dignity
  • Mastery learning design and adaptive instructional methodologies
  • Curriculum localization for rural, bilingual, and community-centered classrooms
  • Operational and compliance guidance for state Education Savings Account (ESA) programs
  • Mentor-to-mentor coaching networks and ongoing professional development portfolios

PROGRAM 3 · COMMUNITY LEARNING & RESILIENCE

Community Learning Hubs, Adult Literacy & Youth Life Skills

Establishing physical and digital study centers in underserved rural and peri-urban hubs. Equipping youth and adults with literacy, digital competencies, vocational resilience, and foundational life skills.

Community Learning Hubs bring essential connectivity, digital tools, educational continuity, adult learning, and practical skills into underserved or geographically isolated communities. The model is co-designed with local families and grassroots community liaisons.

Panama & Disaster Relief Hubs

Churubé of Natá (Coclé) and Panama Este: Emergency modular learning stations, school earthquake recovery, digital inclusion, and adult literacy for rural mothers.

Youth Life Skills & Action Circles

Virtue-based adolescent development (Seedling 10-12, Explorer 12-14, Builder 14-16, Launch 16-18) practiced through hands-on community service and mentoring.

Depending on local community need, Hubs provide internet access, safe study spaces, functional literacy programs, family mentoring, and vocational life skills that equip youth and adults for economic and educational self-reliance.

WHY LOCAL CONTEXT MATTERS

Programs Are Adapted to the Reality of Each Community

In rural and coastal territories, access can depend on road conditions, river crossings, boat transport, connectivity and the availability of a safe local learning space. In urban and immigrant communities, language, work schedules, digital skills and family responsibilities can create different barriers.

Chanak Foundation designs delivery around those realities so philanthropic funding addresses practical obstacles rather than assuming one model will work everywhere.
